Marketing executive in technology and venture capital

I began my career as a startup marketer. After a decade working in the public relations industry, I returned to marketing with a deepened respect for the importance of brand and communications. I prefer spaces where highly technical stories must be told simply and with impact. Recently, that’s meant financial services. I really enjoy working with founders on building their profiles in addition to nailing corporate and product messaging and acquisition strategy. And I love, love building high-performing, self-organizing teams.

Morty

I served as Chief Marketing Officer for fintech startup Morty, on a fractional and then full-time basis. At Morty, I established the company’s first brand messaging platform and led our inaugural customer research and insights project. I worked closely with the founders on Series B outreach and, as a member of the executive team, supported org planning, strategy, and hiring across the business. I also built and ran the marketing organization post-fundraise to a team of seven, holding responsibilities across brand and growth, and worked closely with the cofounder and CEO on her thought leadership platform. In June 2022, Morty was named to the Forbes Fintech 50, a capstone on a year spent elevating our profile across consumer, startup and business media.

Anthemis

For four years, I served as Chief Marketing Officer of early stage fintech venture investor Anthemis. I was a part of the launch team for the firm’s expansion from London to the US and worked closely with the founders on elevating their profiles in the venture and startup community through media, content, and events. I created the first domain platform function at Anthemis for our portfolio company marketers around the world, hosting educational and community-building gatherings on an ongoing basis. I also worked directly with portfolio founders as a consulting CMO to solve for their marketing challenges, including hiring, branding, public relations, crisis communications, and customer acquisition, among many. I collaborated with colleagues on the investment team to name and launch the Female Innovators Lab in partnership with Barclays. I was also responsible for driving all LP-centric marketing activity across multiple fund and corporate venture investment vehicles.

While at Anthemis, I also built and launched the integrated media platform Hacking Finance.
